Dream Dinners- Neat Idea to Try!

Ok, so this is something I have not tried yet but we are planning on trying it when Nash comes along...

We learned about this through my husband's boss. He and his wife tried it and liked it a lot. I would really love to try it soon.

It's called Dream Dinners. You can go to their website and learn all about it http://dreamdinners.com/
They explain it like this...

Here's how it works:
  • Find a location that works for you
  • Select a session date and time from our online calendar & pre-order your dinners
  • Complete your online registration & pay
  • Show up to your scheduled in-store session & assemble your dinners in about an hour
  • Freeze your dinners at home
  • Thaw & cook your dinners during the month
  • Enjoy more time with your family!
I found a location really close to me- Centerville on E. Alex Bell Rd (on the same road as my work). When you are on their website, you can look at their menu. They've got some good stuff! I have researched and have tried the whole freezing crockpot meals before and although I liked it, it required a lot of work. You have to go to the grocery and make sure you get every single ingredient, prep it all at home (which can take awhile), and then package it, store it.. all that good stuff. Like I said, I liked it but the meals I chose seemed to be a lot of work and were relatively expensive.

I'm not a pro at this obviously because I haven't tried it yet. But from what I got from the website, you chose your meals (serving sizes and all) and then chose a time to attend a class to prep it. What I love about this is that you don't have to do the grocery shopping (if your a mom with a kid or two, you know how stressful it can be to get to the grocery and find all your ingredients for multiple meals). Also, you just show up to a class to prep it all- and they say it only takes about an HOUR! Let's just say, it took me way longer at home to do my meal preps. AND, less mess at your home.

From what we heard from our friends- the price and time is worth it. Mainly because when they did the math- each dinner was about $13 each- sounds great to me! Not only that, you have minimal prep to do for dinner each night. Just simply choose a meal, unthaw, and cook! I can handle that.

I think this is the perfect idea for new moms- AND a great gift to give a loved one when they have a baby. Their meals are basically taken care of. How nice! :)

I will keep everyone updated on this and let you all know when we try it and how much we like it.
